How to sync your Outlook calendar with iPhone
Add your Outlook account to your iPhone's Calendar settings so Outlook events appear on your phone and changes sync both ways, then optionally make Outlook your default calendar.

If your meetings live in Outlook but you check your iPhone throughout the day, events you add on your computer do not show up on your phone. People end up keeping two calendars or missing meetings.
iPhone can sync directly with an Outlook calendar through the built-in Calendar app. You add your account in Settings, choose Microsoft Exchange for a Microsoft 365 work account or Outlook.com for a free account, sign in, and pick which items to sync.
Once it is set up, an event created in Outlook on your computer appears on your iPhone within moments, and deleting it on the phone removes it from Outlook too.

- An iPhone
- A Microsoft 365 (Office 365) or Outlook.com account
- Your account password and any two-factor sign-in method

Open the Calendar settings
On your iPhone, open Settings, scroll down and tap Apps, then find and tap Calendar. Tap Calendar Accounts.

Add your account
Tap Add Account. Choose the right type:
- Outlook.com for a free account such as outlook.com or hotmail.com
- Microsoft Exchange for a Microsoft 365 (Office 365) work account

Enter your email and sign in
Enter your Outlook email address and a description, such as
Outlook, then tap Next. Choose Sign In (not Configure Manually) and tap Continue. Enter your password and complete two-factor authentication if it is turned on. Tap Accept. -

Choose what to sync
Turn on Calendars. Turn off Mail, Contacts, Reminders and Notes if you only want the calendar, or leave them on to sync those too. Tap Save. The Outlook account now appears in the iPhone Calendar app.

Set Outlook as your default calendar (optional)
Back in the Calendar settings, scroll to Default Calendar and choose your Outlook calendar. New events you create on the iPhone will then go to Outlook.

Test the sync
Create an event in Outlook on your computer and save it. It appears in your iPhone calendar straight away. Delete it on the iPhone, and it is removed from Outlook as well.
Tips and common problems
- Pick Microsoft Exchange for a Microsoft 365 work account and Outlook.com for a free personal account. Choosing the wrong type is the most common reason sign-in fails.
- If you want new iPhone events in Outlook, change the Default Calendar. Otherwise they may go to another account, such as Google.
- You can add a Google Calendar the same way, so all your calendars show in one app.

Questions
Why is my Outlook calendar not showing on my iPhone?
Your Outlook account may not be added under Settings > Apps > Calendar > Calendar Accounts, or Calendars may be turned off for that account. Add it with Microsoft Exchange (Microsoft 365) or Outlook.com and make sure Calendars is on.
Does the sync work both ways?
Yes. Events created in Outlook appear on the iPhone, and deleting or adding events on the iPhone updates Outlook.
Should I choose Exchange or Outlook.com on iPhone?
