How to recover deleted calendar events in Outlook
Bring back deleted Outlook calendar events from the Deleted Items folder, and recover events that were removed from Deleted Items too, using Recover Items Recently Removed From This Folder.

It is easy to delete the wrong meeting or appointment, and Outlook's calendar has no obvious undo once you have moved on. Deleted events are not gone. They go to Deleted Items like emails, and even after that folder is emptied you can usually restore them.
In Outlook, deleted calendar events land in the Deleted Items folder in the mail view, marked with a small calendar icon. You move them back to your Calendar folder. If they were deleted from Deleted Items as well, the Recover items recently removed from this folder option brings them back first.
The video uses the classic Outlook desktop app. The same method also recovers deleted emails.
What you need
- The classic Outlook desktop app
- A Microsoft 365 or Exchange account
- The calendar event you deleted

Open Deleted Items in the mail view
Switch from the calendar to Mail and open the Deleted Items folder. This folder holds everything you deleted in Outlook, including emails and calendar events.

Find the deleted event
Look for items with a small calendar icon. Those are calendar events. Items without the icon are emails.

Move the event back to your calendar
Right-click the event, choose Move, then Other Folder. If you have more than one account in Outlook, make sure you pick the right one (your primary account is selected by default). Select Calendar and click OK. The event is back on your calendar.

Recover events removed from Deleted Items
If the event is no longer in Deleted Items (for example, you emptied the folder), stay in Deleted Items and click Recover items recently removed from this folder. Select the event, choose Restore Selected Items and click OK. It goes back into Deleted Items.

Move the recovered event to your calendar
Right-click the restored event in Deleted Items, choose Move > Other Folder, select the Calendar of the correct account and click OK. The event reappears on your calendar.
Tips and common problems
- Calendar events in Deleted Items have a small calendar icon. Use it to tell them apart from deleted emails.
- If you have several accounts in Outlook, check you are moving the event to the Calendar of the right account.
- Emptied Deleted Items by mistake? Recover items recently removed from this folder can still bring items back, then you move them to the calendar.
- The same steps work for deleted emails. Just move them to your Inbox or another mail folder instead of the Calendar.
