How to add a clickable email signature to the Outlook mobile app on iPhone and Android

By default the Outlook mobile app signs your emails with "Get Outlook for iOS" or "Get Outlook for Android", which looks unprofessional when you reply to clients from your phone. Outlook does not copy your desktop signature to the mobile app, so even a polished desktop signature does not show up there.
The trick is to send yourself one email that contains your signature, then copy the signature from that email on each device and paste it into that device's signature setting. Formatting, links and images come across with the copy.
It works for personal and business Microsoft 365 accounts.
What you need
- A clickable HTML signature already set up in Outlook desktop
- The Outlook app on iPhone or Android
- Outlook on the web or New Outlook, to set the same signature there

Create your clickable signature
Create an HTML signature with links and images using a free online signature generator, and add it to Outlook desktop. The full tutorial for this is linked below.

Send yourself an email with the signature
From Outlook desktop, send an email that includes the signature. You will copy the signature from this email on each device.

Add the signature on iPhone
In the Outlook app on iPhone, open Sent Items and open that email. Tap the signature, tap Select All, then Copy. Go to Settings > Signature. If you have several accounts, choose the right one. Delete any existing text, long-press and tap Paste, then tap the tick to save. New emails from the app now include the signature.

Add the signature on Android
In the Outlook app on Android, open the sent email, select the signature, tap Select all and Copy. Go to Settings > Signature and paste. The preview may look broken in settings. That is only how the preview renders it. Tap the tick to save, then compose a new email to confirm the signature shows correctly with its formatting.

Add the same signature in Outlook on the web and New Outlook
Open the sent email in Outlook on the web and copy the signature. Open Settings (gear icon) > Account > Signatures and add a new signature. Name it, paste the signature, and set it as the default for new messages and for replies and forwards. Select Save. Compose a new email to check that the links and formatting are all there.
Tips and common problems
- If you have several accounts in the Outlook mobile app, pick the right account before pasting, since each account has its own signature.
- On Android the pasted signature can look broken in the settings preview. Save it and check a new email; it displays correctly there.
- Outlook does not sync your desktop signature to the mobile app, so repeat these steps on each phone.
- Delete the default "Get Outlook for iOS" or "Get Outlook for Android" text before pasting.
