How to auto-fill web forms in Chrome and Firefox with the Autofill Forms extension
Set up the free Autofill Forms browser extension so one click fills the same details into any web form, and add custom rules for fields it does not recognize.

Property managers, admins and anyone who enters the same contact details into a portal again and again waste time retyping names, addresses and messages. Browser autofill only covers basic fields and often misses the rest.
The example is a property portal where the same emergency contact details must be entered for every property. With the Autofill Forms extension, you open the form, click the extension and pick a profile, and every field is filled.
The extension matches form fields by name using rules (JavaScript regular expressions). The default profile covers common fields like name and email. You edit its values, and add a rule plus a value for any field it does not match, such as a subject line.
What you need
- Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox
- The free Autofill Forms extension
- The details you want to fill, such as name, email, address and a standard message

Install the Autofill Forms extension
Search for the Autofill Forms extension in your browser's extension store, open it and click Add to Chrome (or add it in Firefox). Pin it to the toolbar so it is one click away.

Try the default profile
Open the form you want to fill, click the extension icon and choose Default. It fills the fields it recognizes with sample data. Note which fields are wrong or empty. In the video, the subject field stayed empty and the message field got a number from the profile's age value.

Replace the default values with your own
Click the extension and open its settings. On the profile, enter your own first name, last name and email.
For a field that is matched to the wrong value, you can either type your text into that matched value or create a new field. In the video the message box is matched by the
Agefield, so the message text (Hi, I just want to let you know that I like your videos) goes into that value. Save the settings and click Default on the form again to check. -

Add a rule for a custom field
When a form field is not matched at all, open the Rules tab and click Add a new rule. Give it a name, such as
Subject line, and set the field match to text found in the form field's name, heresubject. Save.Then go back to the profile, add a new value for
Subject lineand enter the text to fill, for exampleThis is a demo form submission. Save again. -

Fill the form with one click
Reload the form, click the extension and choose your profile. All fields, including the custom subject line, fill in at once. Create more profiles if you fill different forms on different sites.
Tips and common problems
- If a field fills with the wrong data, the extension matched it to a different rule. Edit that value or add a dedicated rule for the field.
- Rules match form field names with JavaScript regular expressions, so a short word like subject is often enough.
- Create separate profiles for different forms or websites instead of overwriting the default one each time.
